Overview
ICE purchased an 825,000-square-foot warehouse in Hagerstown for about $102 million. Residents protested the project, including with leadership from U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen. Contract work on the facility was paused in April 2026 after Maryland's attorney general filed suit. The Washington County Board of Commissioners issued a resolution of support for ICE despite local protests.
