Overview
Wilson County was briefly identified for one of the largest proposed ICE detention sites in the country, with federal statements citing capacity for 7,000 to 16,000 detainees near Highway 109 and Cedar Creek Lane. After county commissioners opposed the project and ICE retracted erroneous purchase confirmations, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn and Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto reported that DHS would not move forward with a Lebanon facility.
