The federal government purchased a 261,450-square-foot warehouse at 7525 Cogswell Street in Romulus, Michigan, near Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Romulus City Council passed a resolution opposing the facility, and Michigan officials have explored legal avenues to block its use. Hundreds protested in Romulus in April 2026. This is distinct from a second Romulus warehouse site linked to PropCo, LLC, which DHS also considered.
